Simon Shi from Superstar Digital Library (超星数字图书馆) will come to demonstrate some of the latest features of the Duxiu (读秀知识库) and Chinamaxx e-book databases and answer questions.

Chinamaxx is a full-text database of hundreds of thousands of books published in China since 1949 covering the social sciences and humanities, medical and biological sciences, engineering, and law among others.

Grand Secretariat Archives 内閣大庫檔案

The Grand Secretariat Archives features documents originally collected by the Grand Secretariat of the Qing dynasty. The database allows keyword searching for responsible official, title, matter and document number. It includes full-text images of 310,000 documents dated from the Ming dynasty to the late Qing dynasty.
Note: This resource is only available on campus and cannot be accessed from off campus via proxy.

Position: Korean Collection Student Assistant

The East Asia Library of Stanford University Libraries invites a student assistant who can perform, under the supervision of the Korean collection staff, various library tasks relating to the acquisition and cataloging of Korean resources. The student will be working 10 hours per week. A candidate with a long-term commitment to the job is highly preferred.

Major tasks are as follows. All necessary training will be provided.

Western-language Collection

Stanford's principal Western-language collection for Asian studies, housed in Green Library and SAL, emphasizes East Asia (China, Japan, and Korea), with only general coverage of Southeast Asia; the collection on South Asia (principally India and Pakistan), dormant since the early 1970s, was reactivated about 1995.
