Specialized instruction for classes or other Stanford groups are planned and conducted by subject specialists in conjunction with the faculty. Your first contact for research help should be the reference staff at the Green Library Information Center (IC).

About the Center

The Center attracts faculty and students in the seven social sciences departments(Anthropology, Communication, Economics, Linguistics, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology) as well as users from other campus departments, programs and schools. The Center’s subject specialists build and interpret the social science and government documents collections for the Stanford community.

The East Asia Library is equipped with:
- Three Windows XP computers setup to be used as dedicated Chinese, Japanese, and Korean workstations which can be used for both CJK CD-ROM use and access to all library materials and resources on the Internet.
- One microfilm reader/scanner which can scan positive and negative microfilm that can be saved in PDF format or printed out.

Computers
Several computers in the Jonsson stacks and adjacent Social Sciences Resource Center provide access to Folio/Socrates and Internet resources through the Stanford University Libraries and Academic Information Resources SUL/AIR Web site.

The Jonsson Library is open to the public through any of the Green Library entrances. The Jonsson Library stack collections are located in the Bing Wing. US Federal Documents are on the Basement and West 1 stack levels. International, British and California Documents are located on the West 2 stack level.
