It is not a complete list of new arrivals, but it includes most the books we receive from China. The books are sorted by call numbers and contains links to SearchWorks records.

Library instruction class for Chinese resources on the first Friday of each month

Starting with September 2011, EAL librarians will hold a one hour regular monthly library class at noon on the first Friday of each month throughout the fall quarter. The focus will be on the Chinese resources. The topics vary for each session, including how to use online catalog for finding Chinese resources, Chinese databases, special collections, or the topics users suggested. Everyone is welcomed. EAL Library Instruction

The EAL will hold a library instruction session on Tuesday, January 25, 12-1pm in the newspaper area of the EAL reading room.

Topics to be covered:

- introduction to Searchworks (new online catalog)
- searching EAL materials in the online catalog
- introduction to latest Chinese database acquisitions

East Asia Library to Host Lecture on Geo-spatial Information of Archival Sources

On Wednesday, December 8, 2010, a presentation about the recent development in spatio-temporal infrastructure and their applications to interdisciplinary studies will be held at the newspaper / public reading area of the East Asia Library, located on Meyer Library 4th floor. The presentation starts at 4:15pm and features Dr. I-Chun Fan, Executive Director of the Center for Geographic Information Science, Research Center for Humanities and Social Sciences, Academia Sinica, Taiwan, and Dr. Hsiung-Ming Liao, Assistant Research Specialist of the Center for Geographic Information Science. Dr. Fan is also Research Fellow of Institute of History and Philology, Academia Sinica. The event is open to the public.
