Computers & Equipment

The East Asia Library is equipped with:

  • Three Windows XP computers setup to be used as dedicated Chinese, Japanese, and Korean workstations which can be used for both CJK CD-ROM use and access to all library materials and resources on the Internet.
  • One microfilm reader/scanner which can scan positive and negative microfilm that can be saved in PDF format or printed out.
  • One photocopy machine that is set up for using either Stanford ID cards or copy cards. Individuals can purchase new copy cards or add money to new or existing StanfordCardPlan cards at Cash-to-Card machines. A Cash-to-Card machine is located on the first floor of Meyer Library next to the staircase. The current price is $0.13 per page. The EAL front desk does not have cash and cannot make change.   • Two SUL Windows XP public kiosks, one located in the computer cluster area and one located in the mezzanine stacks.

All computers are connected to a print release station located in the computer cluster area.

The EAL has wireless throughout the library and network connections near the study tables and carrels throughout the Reading Room. See Wireless Access in SULAIR for more information on using wireless and laptops on campus.
