It corresponds to two printed indexes: International Aerospace Abstracts, produced by the AIAA, and Scientific and Technical Aerospace Reports (STAR), produced by NASA. An alternative version of the Aerospace Database is also available on the internet as NTRS: NASA Technical Reports Server.

BIOSIS
Also known as BIOSIS Previews, indexes the worldwide literature of research in the biological and biomedical sciences. The database covers the entire field of life sciences including original research reports and reviews in field, laboratory, clinical, experimental, and theoretical work. BIOSIS indexes journals, technical reports, meeting proceedings, United States patents, and books in biology, biomedicine, and related areas. The database indexes literature published from 1926 to the present.

Earthquake engineering abstracts
A comprehensive collection of abstracts and citations of world literature relevant to earthquake engineering and earthquake hazards mitigation. Publications covered include technical journals, reports, books, codes and conference proceedings.

Compendex (Engineering Village)
Compendex is a comprehensive bibliographic database of engineering research containing over nine million references and abstracts from over 5,000 engineering journals, conferences and technical reports. Online coverage is from 1884 to the present. Approximately 500,000 new records are added to the database annually from over 175 disciplines and major specialties within engineering.

Environmental Sciences and Pollution Management
Environmental Sciences and Pollution Management Databases consists of thirteen files covering the worldwide literature for the environmental sciences including air, land, water and noise pollution, bacteriology, ecology, toxicology, risk assessment, environmental biotechnology and engineering, waste management, water resources, policies and regulations, and U.S. federal environmental impact statements.

GeoRef
GeoRef is the American Geological Institute's geoscience database containing over 1.5 million records of North America since 1785 and other areas of the world since 1933.

Human Factors and Ergonomics Society Digital Library - The HFES Digital Library is a comprehensive online collection of five periodicals published by the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society: Human Factors, Ergonomics in Design, Journal of Cognitive Engineering and Decision Making, HFES Annual Meeting Proceedings, and Reviews of Human Factors and Ergonomics.

IEEE Xplore
IEEE Xplore is a digital library providing full text access to the world's highest quality technical literature in electrical engineering, computer science, and electronics. IEEE Xplore contains full text documents from IEEE journals, transactions, magazines, letters, conference proceedings, standards, and IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology) publications.

INSPEC
Inspec is a comprehensive database of citations and abstracts to the literature in physics, electrical engineering, electronics, telecommunications, computers, control technology, and information technology. Covers journal articles, conference papers, significant books, technical reports, dissertations, and patents.

MathSciNet
MathSciNet is a searchable Web database providing access to over 59 years of Mathematical Reviews and Current Mathematical Publications.

Materials Research Society Online
Provides online access to the MRS Bulletin (from v.25 #3 March 2000 through the present), Journal of Materials Research (from 1986 through the present), and the MRS Proceedings series. Full text of over 330 Proceedings volumes beginning with Volume 609 (2000) and including almost 20,000 individual papers.

MEDLINE
Medline is a database indexing 3,600 journals in the fields of medicine, basic medical sciences including molecular and cellular biology and genetics, as well as allied health. Medline is also available via Ovid, OCLC, and the NLM Gateway.

NTIS
Containing over 2.0 million bibliographic records, the NTIS Database is the preeminent resource for accessing the latest research sponsored by the United States and select foreign governments.Contents include research reports, computer products, software, video cassettes, audio cassettes and more. The complete electronic file dates back to 1964. Access via NTRL (National Technical Reports Library) also includes full-text access to more than 500,000 documents.

Scitopia.org
A free federated vertical search portal for more than 20 professional scholarly societies in the sciences and engineering. Content includes over 3.5 million articles and conference proceedings, 50 million patents from the world's major patent offices, and documents from the US Dept of Energy Information Bridge. Full-text of most documents is available through Stanford's subscriptions.

SPIE digital library
The SPIE Digital Library is the most extensive resource available on optics and photonics, providing unprecedented access to more than 230,000 technical papers from SPIE Journals and Conference Proceedings from 1990 to the present. More than 17,000 new research papers are added annually.

Water intelligence online
Provides access to reference books, research reports, research papers and conference proceedings covering water, wastewater and related environmental topics. The years of coverage varies by book or journal title. Water resources abstracts
Water Resources Abstracts (WRA) is available as one of the thirteen databases packaged as the Environmental Sciences and Pollution Management Databases.

Web of Science
(Science Citation Index, 1945-present) Provides for forward or backward cited searching. With a recent article, you typically use the bibliography to go back in time. In a way, the citation index lets you do the reverse. You can take an older article and see who has cited that article since it was published.

ISI Web of Knowledge - ISI Web of Knowledge provides a single search option to search across multiple resources including Web of Science, Derwent innovations index, BIOSIS, CAB Abstracts, INSPEC, MEDLINE, Zoological Record, and ISI Journal citation reports.

xSearch
xSearch, developed through the Stanford University Libraries' partnership with Deep Web Technologies, provides Stanford researchers and students with a single search option for multiple online resources. Searches may be limited to specific databases, or all available sources may be searched simultaneously. Search results are merged into one relevance ranked list, and are clustered by topic, author, source publication, publisher, and date. Custom searches using any selection of available databases can be created and re-used. Users may also create alerts in order to be informed automatically of new items that match search criteria.
