Abstract:
The semiconductor industry has evolved a new and innovative model of industry-university interaction - inter-disciplinary, university-based, virtual centers. This model creates a win-win situation for both companies and universities, if it is understood and executed well. We describe here how the model works and how we must "innovate the way we innovate" for success in the 21st Century. The work is co-authored by George Scalise, President, Semiconductor Industry Association.

Biography:
Dr. Pushkar P. Apte received his Masters and Ph.D. degrees from Stanford University in Materials Science and Electrical Engineering, and his Bachelor's degree in Ceramic Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi, India. He is currently the Vice President of Technology Programs at the Semiconductor Industry Association.
