Interlibrary Services & Document Delivery

Interlibrary borrowing requests for books and copies of journal articles may be submitted by completing one of the forms available through the Interlibrary Services page on the Stanford University Libraries & Academic Information Resources web page. One time registration is required.

Pick up and return loaned materials to the Interlibrary Services Office in Green Library, Monday-Friday, from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Interlibrary borrowing service is available to Stanford faculty, students, staff, and visiting scholars. The Libraries of the Hoover Institution, Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, and Schools of Business, Law, and Medicine maintain their own borrowing services. If you are affiliated with one of these units, please submit your requests directly to your local library.

For Stanford I.D. holders, Interlibrary Services will also acquire copies of journal articles that are not found at Stanford in compliance with the current copyright laws and guidelines. These are delivered electronically via the web. Patrons will receive an e-mail notification with directions to access the document from the lending university's server.

To obtain a copy of a journal article from Hopkins Marine Station, verify that the needed item is not available on the main campus, then complete the Article Request Form available through the Interlibrary Services page.
