New volumes of critical editions of the works of major composers continue to be added to our collections.
Recent arrivals include Jean Sibelius. Symphony No. 7 (Complete Works, Series 1, Volume 8 ) (shown here open to the selected facsimiles section); Johannes Brahms. Violinkonzert, D-Dur op. 77 [und] Doppelkonzert, a-Moll op. 102 (Neue Ausgabe sämtlicher Werke, Serie 1A, Band 7); and Georg Philipp Telemann. Zwölf Kirchenmusiken aus einem Jahrgang nach Texten von Gottfried Behrndt (Estomihi bis Jubilate) (Musikalische Werke, Band 48).
Sets are shelved alphabetically by composer and may be browsed in the stacks at M3. Volumes are indexed online in the Index to printed music in collections & series (IPM), which is an expanded version of Hill and Stephens, Collected Editions, Historical Series & Sets & Monuments of Music: A Bibliography. Heyer's Historical sets, collected editions, and monuments of music : a guide to their contents, published in 1980, is a classic music reference work, indexing sets published up through the late 1970s.
