This is a collection of rare books assembled since 2002 by the London antiquarian book dealer, Christopher Johnson, as a second supplement to his earlier collections of "Provincial Poetry 1789-1839: British Verse Printed in the Provinces." Johnson's original collection required 18 years to build. It contained 1000 separate books, and its scrupulously descriptive catalog, Provincial Poetry, 1789-1839: British Verse Printed in the Provinces: The Romantic Background, was published independently (London, 1992) and is now a standard bibliography in the field.
