Libraries organize its resources by assigning call numbers and shelving the resources by this number. Resources that are related to each other are given similar call numbers so that the resources are shelved near each other. One way to discover related resources is to browse the stacks. SearchWorks offers a way to virtually browse the stacks with Browse by call number.
From the record view of an item in SearchWorks, the Browse by call number widget appears in the left side bar. Items that would appear next to the displayed item on a physical shelf are displayed in the widget.
Clicking on Show full page in the Browse by call number widget will show the gallery view of browsing by call number. One advantage of virtually browsing call numbers is that it doesn't matter in which library the item is located; the related resources are discoverable no matter the physical location.
