Renewals

Users who have a current SUNet ID and a University ID may place a request to renew items up to two times by accessing My Account. An email message will be sent to you on the following day confirming that the renewal was processed. Items must be returned to the owning library for the third renewal. Institutional fee-based users must renew items at the owning library. No email or phone renewals will be accepted.

Returning Materials

Materials can be returned to any library on campus except for course reserve materials, journals, and theses, which must be returned directly to the Swain Library. Fines for reserve items are $1.00 per hour, applied in full at 16 minutes after the time due. Stiff fines are also levied for recalled items that are not returned promptly, especially items recalled for course reserves. Two weeks after a due date, a bill to replace the item as well as a non-refundable fee of $5 per item is assessed.

Recalls

Books and dissertations are subject to recall if requested by another user. All recalled items must be returned within 7 days of the date on the notice you receive. The recall overdue fine accrues at the rate of $3.00 per day. Recalled items may not be renewed.
