The ACS Symposium Series (1974–present) contains high-quality, peer-reviewed books developed from the ACS technical divisions’ symposia. The series covers a broad range of topics including agricultural and food chemistry, cellulose and renewable materials, chemical education, organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, materials, and many others. Published between 1950–1973, Advances in Chemistry was the predecessor to the ACS Symposium Series. The Bookshelf is a searchable collection of online biomedical textbooks and other literature. In addition to some classic biology and medical textbooks and monographs, it also includes books and databases produced by the National Library of Medicine (NLM) and the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI).

SpringerMaterials (Landolt-Börnstein database) Stanford only
Landolt-Börnstein, the largest compilation of data in physics and chemistry, celebrated its 125th birthday on 29 September 2008. The reference work was published by the physicist Hans Landolt and the chemist Richard Börnstein in 1883; in the New Series, it now comprises more than 360 printed volumes and over 55,000 electronic documents for engineers and scientists.
