Just past the circulation area is the main hall. Swain’s collections are housed in four rooms which branch off of the main hall.

The first room on the right is the book stacks, and the second room on the right contains journals.

On the left side of the hall, the first room is the reference collection area. The second room on the left holds Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Theses and the retired reference collection. For an overview of all materials locations in Swain, please refer to the Floorplan.

Recently received issues of journals are shelved alphabetically by title on both sides of the main hall.
