Access to East Asia Library materials is by appointment only, restricted to the following Stanford ID cardholders: Stanford professors (including emeriti), post-docs, graduate students, fellows, academic staff, and Stanford visiting scholars.

Please review the entry requirements before coming to campus.

Enter through the main entrance on the 2nd floor of Lathrop Library.

Paging services to East Asia Library restored

As part of Stanford Libraries' research restart, materials from the East Asia Library stacks can now be paged and picked up the circulation desk.  Additionally, paging of some materials from our collections at SAL1/2 for pickup at the East Asia Library has been restored.

Elevator repair and limited access to basement stacks

On Monday, August 3, repairs will commence on the East Asia Library elevator.  The repairs are expected to take approximately three weeks, during which time patrons will be unable to access the basement stacks.

Restarting research at the East Asia Library

The East Asia Library will resume in-person research activities and access to physical collections for some Stanford users beginning on Monday, June 22.  Faculty (including emeriti), graduate students, post-docs, visiting scholars, and academic staff will be eligible to access the library's collections by appointment.
