Book scanners

Digital Transitions BC100 Dual Copy System

The BC100 is used for manual book scanning.

Digitization Line 3000 Large Format Robotic Book-Scanner

The robotic book-scanner is used to digitize books and other bound materials at extremely high volume.

Overhead cameras

Overhead cameras are used in a copystand set-up to digitize maps, paintings, manuscripts, rare and fragile bound volumes, photographic negatives, and oversize materials.

In addition to our overhead cameras, we also use the Digital Transitions Film Scanning Kit to digitize photographic negatives and slides. 

 

 

Sheetfed scanners

Sheetfed scanners are used for high-volume mass digitization of sturdy materials. The WideTek scanner is used for oversized materials, while the other scanners are for standard paper sizes.

Flatbed scanners

Flatbed scanners are used to digitize non-fragile loose leaf items and photographic prints. We currently have four flatbed scanners in operation:

3D scanner

Stanford Libraries currently uses the Go!SCAN 3D for imaging of 3D artifacts.

Our piano roll scanner was custom-built to digitize player piano rolls of many varities.
