Borrow, renew, return

Did you lose an item?

Report lost items immediately to the circulation desk of the owning library. Replacement charges vary by library and material type, but typically include a replacement fine and a non-refundable $5.00 processing fee. Log into My Account to view and pay your bill.

Replacing an item yourself

Stanford University Libraries may accept an exact replacement of a lost item. Library staff will determine whether or not to accept a replacement item. Replacement items must have the same ISBN as the lost item, have the same format or binding, and be in an unused condition. There will be a $25.00 cataloging and binding fee. Replacement copies should be brought to the circulation desk of the owning library.

Did you find it?

Lost items are the property of Stanford Univeristy Libraries, even after fees have been paid. If you find a lost item, return it to the owning library. You may be eligible for a refund if you found the item within one year of paying the replacement fine. Refunds will be given by check and may take two to four weeks to process. Please note that only the replacement fine will be refunded; all other fees are non-refundable.
