Fines on overdue materials can be paid only after the item is returned or declared lost. Fines and fees must be paid in full.

Pay online

Log into My Account and select the Fines tab to see a list of outstanding fines and fees. All fines and fees must be paid in full. 

Pay by mail

Make a check payable to "Stanford University". Please include a note with your University or Library ID number. Send the check to:

Contest a fine

To contest a fine or fee, go to the circulation desk of the library that owns the item in question and speak with a desk supervisor. Contested fines and fees must be resolved with the owning library before payment can be made.

Refunds

Paid overdue fines cannot be refunded. Paid replacement fees may be eligible for a refund if the item is found and returned to the library within one year from the date the fee was paid. Read more about lost items.
