Connect to e-resources

Troubleshooting guide

If you are unable to connect to a e-resource, try the following:

  • Check the SearchWorks record to verify that we have a current subscription that covers the publication date.
  • Clear your browser’s cache and cookies and restart your browser or use an incognito/private browser window.
  • Try using a different browser.
  • Check the system status page for known outages.
  • Report a connection problem.

If you have trouble accessing an e-resource from off-campus, try these additional steps:

  • Make sure Lean Library Extension is installed (if your browser is supported) or you are using an EZproxy bookmarklet.
  • Log into Stanford VPN using full traffic (non-split-tunnel) VPN connection.
  • Open an incognito or private browser window.
  • Try to connect again using the EZproxy link: add the EZproxy prefix (https://stanford.idm.oclc.org/login?url=) to the beginning of the URL, e.g., https://stanford.idm.oclc.org/login?url=http://www.nature.com.
  • Report a connection problem.
